**Laboratory Technician, Logistics I - PT weekend and one week day coverage**

We currently, we have an opening for a **Laboratory Technician, Logistics I** to join our Chemistry Department. Reporting to the Manager. Primary tasks include the organization of day-to-day activity of the group: ensuring that the instruments are in good working condition, assigning tests to be done on instruments based on workload, monitoring the progress of data completion, providing status updates for projects and communicating any delays or issues that may impact meeting project deadlines.

Reporting to the Senior Logistics/Team lead, the Laboratory Technician, Logistics I will be responsible for the following:

- Entering client-supplied samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Preparing samples for shipping and analysis
- Preparing shipping documentation for shipping samples internally or to external subcontract labs

**Primary responsibilities of the job**:

- Ensure samples are properly entered in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and are available for laboratory staff in a timely manner.
- Ensure all sample integrity issues are properly documented and reported.
- Prepare samples for analysis, including crushing and homogenization using sample preparation equipment.
- Prepare shipping documentation to ship samples to internal or external labs.
- Weigh samples.
- Sample archival and retrieval.
- Maintain records of raw data in Labs-Mart lab notebooks.
- The employee shall implement the Laboratory Quality Policy and perform their duties in accordance to existing project-specific requirements, current Test Methods, study plans, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Compliance to Health & Safety policies and procedures and wearing required Personal Protective equipment at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- High school Diploma or Chemical Technologists Diploma
- Logistics Experience is an asset.
- 0-1 years’ experience working in a commercial laboratory setting.
- Comfortable working with solvents and gases.
- General knowledge of GMP and/or ISO guidelines is an asset.
