Laboratory Technician, Chemistry Co-op

We currently, we have an opening for a Laboratory Technician, Chemistry Co-op to join our Chemistry Department. Reporting to the Manager. Primary tasks include the organization of day-to-day activity of the group: ensuring that the instruments are in good working condition, assigning tests to be done on instruments based on workload, monitoring the progress of data completion, providing status updates for projects and communicating any delays or issues that may impact meeting project deadlines.

Reporting to the Senior Laboratory Technician-Chemistry/Team Lead, the Laboratory Technician, Chemistry Co-op will be responsible for the following:

- Routine testing of client-supplied samples in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly verifications.

**Primary responsibilities of the job**:

- Prepare analytical standards
- Perform daily balance and monthly pipette verification
- Processes high-volume methods (i.e., protein, TLC, fat, etc.) and works with the team to deliver results on time.
- Maintain records of raw data in lab notebooks
- Record final data in LIMs database
- The employee shall implement the Laboratory Quality Policy and perform their duties in accordance with existing project-specific requirements, current Test Methods, study plans, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures and wearing required Personal Protective equipment at all times
- Other duties as assigned

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Working towards Chemical Technologist Diploma or BSc, Microbiology Or equivalent education.
- 0-1 years’ experience working in a commercial laboratory setting
- Working knowledge of GMP and/or ISO guidelines would be an asset
