**Purpose**:
**Education**:
University degree or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

**Experience**:
Minimum of one (1) year experience working with scholarships and awards is required. Experience working with spreadsheets and/or databases required. Experience providing procedural and contextual advice to others, based on guidelines provided. Some experience working with federal and provincial guidelines for award/scholarship administration, in addition to working with any institution's policies and procedures. Experience disseminating information to the public. Reviewing documents for accuracy based on provided guidelines. Experience working with public sector scholarship/award administration.

**Skills**:
Ability to disseminate complex information in an easy to understand manner.
Keyboarding 40-45 wpm, accuracy essential.
Demonstrated skills/ability in the following areas:

- advanced Word. intermediate Excel. critical attention to detail. working accurately with figures.
Effective oral communication skills.
Able to answer enquiries and provide complex and detailed information in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to deal calmly, courteously, and effectively with people.
Able to exercise tact and diplomacy.
Able to work quickly, effectively and efficiently under pressure of high volume during peak periods.
Effective organizational skills, including working independently, setting priorities, and meeting strict deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate competing demands and collaborating with others.
Comfortable working with new and emerging software/technologies

**Additional Notes**:
Hours of work: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Summer: same as above, Requests to work overtime may occur during peak periods Peak periods: September to May Vacation restriction: Mid-September to March
