We are currently seeking an experienced Controller to manage the day-to-day accounting activities for our Canadian and US operations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Overseeing, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions
- Preparing and reviewing monthly and yearly financial statements for all companies
- Reconciling of all balance sheet accounts
- Monitoring and analyzing monthly operating results against budget
- Review of open and completed jobs and job costing accrual
- Coordinating activities of external auditors
- Monitoring and managing cash flow and develop reports for executives
- Assisting with business insurance, statutory reporting and other ad-hoc reporting as required
- Assessing and auditing current accounting processes and internal controls, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
- Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
- Regular financial analysis, identifying and managing financial risk, completing financial research, performing economic and sales forecasting, analyzing a company’s sales and overall performance, and managing financial data.
- Management of the accounting team lead (A/P, A/R), which includes, hiring, training, performance management, terminations etc.

**Requirements**:

- University Degree in Business/Accounting, with advanced degree or professional accounting designation ( CPA, CGA Designation preferred)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a controllership role.
- Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and knowledge of relevant federal, provincial and local requirements. US GAAP knowledge is an asset.
- Construction or Project based accounting knowledge and payroll experience considered an asset
- In depth computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel.
