Over the past decade, due to this strong combination of expertise, our organization has continued to grow in both areas, organic chemistry/process development for pharma and biotech and innovative material/polymer development for the medical device industry.

Some major innovations recently developed at GL CHEMTEC new hydrogels and silicon hydrogels, novel contact lens technologies, as well as new drug delivery technologies, organ-on-a-chip/organoids, and disruptive treatments for dry-eye disease.

**Position Description & Primary Responsibilities**:
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Controller.

As the Controller, your overall responsibilities will include the following.
- Desire to create a strong financial and accounting function at GLC
- Deploy best-in-class financial procedures and systems
- Author the roadmap for increasing GLC’s financial sophistication as the business grows
- Establish financial controls that ensure the highest level of accountability and risk mitigation
- Forecasting to predict financial status and cash flow projections
- Able to read and understand a credit agreement; comprehending the various restrictions and reporting requirements therein
- Manage banker relationships including monitoring compliance with any debt covenants
- Provide forward looking insights for CEO and CCO based on analysis of data and trends
- Present at board and lender meetings; respond to questions regarding financials
- Develops and implements goals, policies, priorities, financial strategy, performance metrics and procedures in regard to financial and operational management including budgeting, accounting, and reporting
- Build relationships throughout the business to establish trust
- Oversee and implement improvements or upgrades to accounting systems, operational support systems, and HR systems.
- You should be able to deliver the following:

- Monthly internal financial statements
- MD&A for board and lenders
- Monthly covenant reporting
- Quarterly board reporting
- Annual budget
- Manage annual Audit with RSM
- Ensure compliance with ASPE accounting standards
- Tax (Canadian and international)
- 13 weeks cash flow forecast and daily/weekly cash reporting
- Margin analyses
- Customer / product / end market analyses
- Long-term financial projections
- Manage monthly close process to meet goals of less than 10 business day close
- Establish or improve general controls and reconciliation processes
- Ensure revenue recognition procedures are ASPE compliant
- Own cash forecasting, budget process, capex approval process and credit agreement review processes.

**Position Requirements**:

- B.Sc. from a recognized University and a minimum of 8+ years of relevant accounting experience with a growing company.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, time management skills, and presentation skills.
- Able to interact efficiently and respectfully with group members internally and externally.
- Proven ability to work independently.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at one time.
- While not required, preference will be given to individuals: with an MBA

an active CPA license
public accounting experience
experience managing debt covenants
experience working with private equity investors
experience with acquisitions and integrations
experience managing change in high growth companies
