**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**

The Peter Willis Residence assists federally sentenced men to transition to the community by offering individual counselling, group programs, and employment services, as well as providing clients with the skills and supports they need to achieve a productive, pro-social lifestyle.

As a Support Counsellor at the Peter Willis Residence, you will:

- Assist with established Support Plans and help clients develop the skills and resources they need to enhance their social functioning
- Facilitate group programs
- Monitor, distribute and document medication
- Intervene and mediate client disputes
- Assist in conducting irregular urinalysis and breathalyzer testing

Hours of work: days/afternoons/nights/weekends, statutory holidays. Hours can be scheduled and call ins.

Training: Initial comprehensive training related to all aspects of the role, as well as access to ongoing professional development

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**

Hourly wage range: starting at $21.30 plus shift premiums and benefits

**REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- Have a college diploma in the Human/Social Services field
- Have a minimum of 1 year combined student placement and/or paid experience working in a therapeutic and/or correctional residential setting or with individuals involved in the justice system
- Be able to be granted Reliability Status
- Be proficient in MS Office and be familiar with databases
- Access to reliable transportation, as some travel may be required
- Ability to manage exposure to vicarious traumatic stress
- Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (minimum 3 doses)
