Role and Responsibilities
- Spearhead the initial review, drafting, and amendment of legal contracts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with company objectives, while also managing a legal ticketing system.
- Proficient time management skills are imperative due to the frequent encounter with tight deadlines. It is crucial to adeptly prioritize tasks, establish feasible timelines, and allocate resources efficiently. This ensures that projects are completed promptly while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Collaborate closely with business leaders to develop and execute projects and legal strategies that drive organizational success and mitigate risks under the supervision of Corporate Counsel.
- Independently manage a robust workload of contracting events, demonstrating efficiency, precision, and strategic thinking in all aspects of contract negotiation and execution.
- Act as a liaison within the legal department, facilitating discussions and vetting language options to ensure contractual agreements align with company standards and objectives.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and legal professionals to develop and refine contract templates, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and legal compliance.
- Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned, demonstrating adaptability, agility, and a proactive approach to addressing evolving business needs.

Qualifications and Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in commercial contracts within an in-house or law firm setting, demonstrating expertise in commercial contracts and some exposure to employee litigation.
- Hold a Law Clerk Diploma and/or Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario Certificate, or paralegal diploma.
- Exhibit exceptional legal writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
- Proficient in Document Management Systems, with the ability to leverage technology to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Possess unparalleled attention to detail, along with self-motivation and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, investigative, fact-finding, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
