Job Summary

The Production/Plant Manager will lead the daily operations at our Richmond facility, managing the entire production process from pre-press, printing, die-cutting to packaging. This role is pivotal in maintaining workflow efficiencies, product quality, and cost-effective manufacturing practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the printing and packaging production processes, from pre-press through to finished product.
- Develop, implement and maintain optimized workflow processes for offset printing, digital printing, die-cutting, laminating, and packaging.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as GMP, and other regulatory guidelines specific to printing and packaging.
- Coordinate closely with the pre-press and design departments to ensure print readiness and quality control.
- Supervise a diverse team comprising of machine operators, line workers, and quality control staff; provide training, professional development, and performance reviews.
- Analyze production data, including waste percentages, equipment efficiency, and manpower utilization to minimize costs.
- Ensure that safety protocols are strictly followed, including the correct use of PPE and safe operation of machinery like presses, cutters, and laminators.
- Liaise with procurement to secure high-quality raw materials, ensuring just-in-time inventory practices.
- Manage client expectations by coordinating with customer service and sales departments to provide accurate production schedules and delivery timelines.
- Prepare and present weekly and monthly production reports, including recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Printing Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the printing and packaging industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Comprehensive understanding of printing technologies like offset, flexo, and digital as well as packaging machinery like die-cutters and laminators.
- Proven experience with industry-specific software like Prinergy, workflow management, and inventory systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of KPI settings and implementation, tracking through MES software.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Requirements
- Availability to work weekends or off-hours if production demands necessitate.
- Problem-solving abilities and ability to work under pressure.
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certifications are highly desirable.
