- Day Program Position - permanent, full-time. Join Ontario's largest adult day program specializing in dementia care
- Work closely with large recreation and interdisciplinary team to create engaging programs to enhance client's quality of life.
- Set up and facilitate various recreation programs, which may include exercises, active games, music and dancing, trivia and cognitive games, sensory programming, Montessori activities
- Engage with and assist team members (RPNs, PSWs, social workers, administration, and more)
- Communicate with care partners
- Complete documentation
- Work closely with students, volunteers, paid entertainers/visitors, and ongoing research projects

**Summary**:

- Responsible for delivering recreational programs designed by the Recreation Specialists that respond to the physical, psychological, social and spiritual well-being for clients with Alzheimer Disease and Other Dementias.
- Communicates with the Recreation Specialist in developing and updating individual care plans

**Job Requirements**
- **Completion of a University Degree or College Diploma in Recreation**:

- _**Fun, social, sense of humour and engaging personality**_
- Two (2) to five (5) years work experience with cognitively impaired and/or frail elderly populations providing leisure/recreation activities
- Knowledge of symptoms associated with stages of ADRD
- Competency in working with clients with responsive behaviours
- CPR certification at the Heartsaver level
- Food Handler Certification
- Ability and knowledge to work within a computerized environment
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills essential
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary work environment
- Demonstrated commitment to relationship-centred care.
