Associate, Strategic Initiatives

As an Automation & Reporting Consultant, you will become a valuable member of the Global Credit Innovation & Solutions (GCIS) team within RBC Capital Market’s Global Credit function. You will develop (and/or work with IT partners to develop) automation and reporting solutions that support Global Credit’s strategies and business processes.

**What will you do?**:

- Complete automation projects end-to-end (from initial requirements to successful implementation), including but not limited to:

- Author automation requirements documentation
- Develop, maintain and enhance RPA (Robotic Process Automation, IE Blue Prism) solutions
- Work with IT partners to develop, maintain and enhance automation/system solutions
- Ensure all development is properly tested: Executing Unit Testing, Reviewing UAT, BAT and PIV
- Complete reporting projects/tasks from end-to-end, including but not limited to:

- Creating requirements for reporting
- Writing complex SQL queries (involving time-series data)
- Work with IT to create/modify database tables to enable/enhance reporting capabilities
- Create highly accurate and user-friendly reporting artefacts
- Ensure reports are fit-for-purpose and enable data-driven decisions
- Ensure all solutions implemented are strategic, flexible, and maximize benefit for the cost.
- Build relationships with stakeholders to:

- Understand business processes & objectives
- Facilitate progress on automation/reporting initiatives
- Extract new automation/reporting opportunities
- Redesign and optimize business processes in preparation for automation/reporting, being unafraid to challenge the status quo
- Adhere to common standards and development best practices for both automation and reporting initiatives
- Perform peer code reviews with other team members
- Participate in opportunity assessment, vetting for technical suitability and practicality while successfully interacting with stakeholders of varying seniority

**What do you need to succeed?**
**Must-have**
- Experience with RPA/Blue Prism
- Ability to confidently query data using SQL
- Business System Analysis and Project Execution experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong technical background with some coding experience (coding expertise not required)
- Self-motivation and highly developed organization skills that support an ability to multi-task with ease
- Experience and passion for technology
- Demonstrated curiosity for learning, especially in the discipline of automation technologies, coupled with a keen interest in problem solving

**Nice-to-have**
- Experience in 2 or more automation technologies (RPA / Blue Prism, NLP, Chatbots, etc).
- Proven relationship-building, collaboration and communication skills in order to create, maintain and enhance relationships with teammates, as well as internal and/or external partners
- Process Analysis and optimization experience
- Undergraduate degree with a focus in Computer Science, Business, Mathematics or other quantitative fields
- Ability to understand IT language and Business Language
- Experience interfacing with Business Clients to comprehend business requirements and develop technical or user process solutions
- Change Management skills
- Experience in Capital Markets in the Trading or Corporate Lending environment**What’s in it for you?**
