**Job Summary**
The Scheduling Assistant is responsible for assisting with the scheduling of production on the plant floor, which requires interaction with the Scheduling Module within the Blachford Information System (BIS). Production work is expanding rapidly and this position needs to liaise with the Master Scheduler and Production Supervisors. The Scheduling Assistant’s responsibilities also include back up Cycle Counter.
**Reporting Structure**
Reports to the Master Scheduler, who reports to the Plant Manager.
**Duties Include**:
- Responsible for assisting with scheduling of production work orders to ensure all customer orders are completed within specified lead times by utilizing the Scheduling Module within BIS
- Back up to Cycle counter
- Completing and closing “Batch Cards” that contain the orders for the business
- Ability and willingness to go out onto the plant floor to check on orders and materials
- Updating BIS and other spreadsheets as necessary to keep all information in real time.
- Communicate with the Master Scheduler, Production Supervisors, Production Manager, and the Plant Manager to maintain clarity and work efficiencies
- Other duties as required.
**Education, Skills and Experience**
- Ability to work well under pressure, individually and as part of a team.
- Experience in a manufacturing setting is a strong asset
- Proficient with computers and the ability to quickly learn computer systems and process.
- Proficiency with MS Office software - specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Able to work successfully and productively in a team environment or independently and multi-task effectively.
- Proven analytical, planning, and organizing skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to envision and deliver innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen effectively, respond appropriately, and maintain mutual comfort level while relating to a diverse workforce.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Results and people oriented, but possess sound judgment and the ability to balance other business considerations.
