Edmonton Catholic Schools requires a temporary general labourer to perform a range of duties to support the Electronic Services program. The work is carried out using basic power/manual tools and equipment. The job also provides support to other department staff to handle peak workloads, large projects and cover-off during absences.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist senior staff in construction, job and repair functions as directed;
- Assist with electronic and electrical project or maintenance related work;
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding;
- Pick up delivery of equipment and materials;
- Ensure worksites are clean and maintained within safety standards;
- Estimate materials required, monitor use and keep time and materials records;
- Ensure materials and tools are safely operated and stored at all times;
- Employee is expected to use their own vehicle for travel to various sites for work; mileage to be reimbursed.

**Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma;
- Knowledge of the safe use of basic power tools and manual tools;
- Knowledge of basic construction and maintenance techniques;
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations and of regulations governing Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG);
- Working knowledge of Microsoft programs - Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet is required;
- A valid permanent class 5 driver’s license and the ability to travel to various sites within Edmonton;
- Ability to provide a clean driver’s abstract upon hire and as requested;
- Physically able to complete the duties of the job using appropriate tools and techniques (constantly lifting up to 30Kg/66lbs);
- Good communication skills and fluency in the English language-both verbal and written is mandatory.
