The City of Melfort, in collaboration with the Melfort and District Museum, is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of our community. We are committed to providing engaging experiences that educate, inspire, and celebrate our local history and culture. We are seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as a Museum Curator/Cultural Coordinator. This unique position is jointly directed by the Melfort and District Museum Board and the City of Melfort, with responsibilities spanning museum operations and the coordination of cultural initiatives and events within the community.
The Position: Museum Operations: Oversee day-to-day museum operations, including collections management, exhibition planning, and visitor services. Collaborate with the Museum Board to develop and implement policies and procedures for efficient museum functioning. Ensure the preservation and conservation of artifacts and archival materials in accordance with professional standards and best practices.
Cultural Coordination: Responsible for oversight of Cultural programming and/or cultural development throughout the City as it relates to heritage, and culture. Foster partnerships with local organizations, artists, and cultural stakeholders to promote cultural awareness and appreciation. Organize and coordinate cultural events, workshops, and programs that showcase the diverse heritage of Melfort.
