**Department Overview**
The Enterprise Data Governance Office (EDGO) is TD Bank's leading authority on the governance and management of data and is part of TD's Enterprise Data and Technology Risk organization. We have the tools, processes, and mandate to leverage TD's data to become the bank of the future and we’re looking for transformative leaders to help us make that happen.
EDGO Function Lead partners closely with lines of business through the enterprise-wide Data Governance structure to drive effective data oversight and challenge. This supports critical business and strategic decision making, legendary customer experiences and reduced operational and reputational risk.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Lead and manage a sizeable team of professionals and overall operation of a diverse group in an area of moderate risk, complexity or scope, while growing talent, developing skills and capabilities to achieve career goals, support project / initiative success and achieve business results (people manager only)
- Proactively analyze potential data risks and ensure escalation of key risks to appropriate areas and/or review with business executive findings and LOB challenge to mitigate and manage these risks
- Provide thought leadership and/or industry knowledge for area of expertise and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit
- Monitor intake of changes (e.g., projects, transformation, innovation), and form a view across initiatives and risk categories.
- Provides objective data oversight and independent challenge to Change Initiatives via risk assessments (e.g. DIA, CRA, NBPA)
- Advisory for lines of business implementation of policy /standards driven through change initiatives
- Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
- Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and/or oversight functions and ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements
- Lead, motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners / stakeholders to develop productive working relationships
**Job Requirements**
- Seasoned professional requiring substantial in-depth knowledge / expertise in the area(s) of risk management and/or data management & governance
- Interprets internal / external business challenges and the industry environment, recommends course of action and best practices to improve products, processes or services
- Independently manages end-to-end functional programs
- Solves or leads others to solve complex problems; leads efforts or partners with others to develop new solutions
- Communicates difficult concepts; converts information into compelling business context and advice; influences and gains alignment across increasingly senior stakeholders
- Works autonomously as the lead and guides others within area of expertise
**Additional Information**
- Undergraduate Degree required; Post Graduate degree preferred
