**About the program**:
The Supported Independent Living program provides support to adults with a developmental difference to live in the community independently, with a roommate, or with a partner. People supported by SIL have many life skills however require some assistance to maintain and foster independent living. Supports for each person are based on individual needs.

**What You'll do**:
The incumbent in this position will provide individualized support, in a manner consistent with Mainstream philosophy and values. The incumbent will provide a person centered approach finding the best supports for people which includes:

- assisting people to find a valuable place in his/her community,
- providing the supports people need to be successful with day to day living
- empowering people to recognize and reach personal goals
- creating and finding new opportunity for people so that they are able to fully understand their options
- Develop strong relationships with people supported, families, and community resources
- Work in a team environment to effectively support all people in the program
- Work independently in the community and people’s homes

To provide best support to people the incumbent must develop strong, respectful and positive relationships with the persons supported, family members, a broad range of community organizations, as well as all Mainstream employees.

**-*College Diploma/University Degree **or* Equivalent experience
- Must have a valid Driver’s License (G2 or G) and a reliable vehicle; Auto Insurance (with a $1,000,000 liability coverage and a permission to carry non-paying passengers).
- Must have a police clearance (with vulnerable sector screening).
- Must have a valid First Aid, CPR, & CPI/NVCI certificate.
- Relevant working experience supporting people with a Developmental Disability is an asset.

Please note that the selection process will be person centered and utilize matching tools to ensure that employees are well matched to the people they will be supporting, the program, the team and the organization. The selection process will also require you to demonstrate your skills in providing person centered supports and connecting to the community through written exercises, interview questions and hands on activities.

Pay: $25.42-$26.12 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week
