This position is a part-time (0.6 FTE) position.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provides the Vice-President Academic & Provost support on issues associated with labour relations issues considering risks, costs, and organizational objectives.
- Provides advice and guidance regarding the interpretation, compliance, administration, and implementation of the Collective Agreement.
- Develops frameworks, tools, and templates to support labour relations processes.
- Execution of the vision and initiatives, strategies, programs, policies, and services that support University-wide goals and objectives in alignment with the Collective Agreement and Policy.
- Develops external relationships to support collaboration, information sharing and networking with a variety of stakeholders including peers from other post-secondary institutions, the Public Bargaining Coordination Office, and others as required.
- Supports leaders in managing conflicts, or mediating conversations to help bring the parties to a fair and productive resolution.
- Represents the university before relevant legislative bodies as necessary, reaching out to legal representatives where required.
- Receives and addresses internal formal complaints from faculty members, including but not limited to those connected with CUE’s policies and procedures.
- Resolution of employee grievances, manage complex performance management issues, complaints that arise with faculty members.

**Requirements**:

- A bachelor’s degree is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 10-years experience working in a unionized environment.
- Labour relations knowledge including arbitration and grievance experience is a requirement.
- Knowledge of the Universities policies and procedures including the Collective Agreement.
- Exceptional negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Discretion, tact and excellent judgement.
- Ability to contribute to the University’s strategies and initiatives related to equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenization.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong internal and external relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Collective agreement interpretation.
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Check results.
