**The Opportunity**

We are currently looking for a Controller to work at our Gormley location. This position will report directly to the VP, Operations and work closely with the operations personnel. The Controller will manage all aspects of the accounting and financial functions for both locations and plays a strategic role in the management of the business through forecasting, providing budgetary recommendations and supporting growth. The Controller will possess strong financial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with all leaders and staff of the company.

**Responsibilities**
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting team including but not limited to, month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash flow management, budgeting, general ledger
- Process payrolls for all salaried employees and hourly, when necessary, for both locations
- Process employee benefits for all employees, which includes pension plan remittances and liaising with Insurance representative
- Process financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner
- Prepare and make daily and monthly standard and adjusting journal entries
- Review bank activity and prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of monthly/annual financial reports, analysis and annual budgets
- Act as liaison with bank, auditors and Minotaur
- Manage the year end preparation and audit process and deliverables
- Review of benefits with insurance broker annually
- Assist with year-end insurance renewals
- Preparing annual EHT and WSIB reconciliation reports
- Work closely with sales team in preparation of yearly price list and inputting into system, and preparing price increase letters
- Responsible for yearly inventory
- Assist management and Assistant Controller with ad hoc audit requests, daily billings, A/R, A/P, invoicing issues, going to post office or bank, reports, and process documentation.
- Responsible for records management, Maintain account policies and procedures and a system of internal controls
- Work with Senior Management to ensure financial directives are followed
- Comply with local, provincial and federal government reporting and tax filings

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- 5 years’ experience as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller or Controller
- CPA designation is preferred
- Advanced knowledge of accounting software and databases
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Demonstrated knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting principles, practices laws and regulations
- Self-motivated, professional, self-confident, and organized
- Attention to detail, accuracy and able to multitask and set timely priorities
- Team player, able to work independently
- Strong interpersonal & communication (oral & written) skills
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, and changing work environment
- Ability to bring recommendations for process improvement to Management.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry would be considered an asset

**This position is 100% on site at our main location in Gormley. On occasion travel may be required to our London location.**
