**Position Description**:
**Role Description**:

- Work closely with the Director, Policy and Economic Research on projects of strategic importance to the Board, with the aim of supporting key economic enablers for the Toronto Region
- Lead key policy files, including the development of reports, engagement with stakeholders, and delivering other outputs that generate impact
- Analyze data encompassing traditional economic indicators, regional economic data and other private-sector data sets to develop insights and help inform public policy
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses across a variety of policy areas
- Engage with stakeholders to better understand challenges and develop innovative and actionable solutions
- Synthesize research into impactful, action-orientated presentations and reports to share internally and externally

**Your experience includes**:

- An undergraduate degree or diploma in Economics or a related field of study, including Public Policy or other Social Sciences; A graduate degree is an asset
- At least 3-5 years of experience related to economic research, public policy, regional economic development, and/or data analytics
- Interest in and knowledge of applied public policy research, particularly at the municipal and provincial level
- Experience working in a highly productive research environment or consulting is an asset
- Ability to understand policy issues, assess them and develop feasible solutions
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in print and in presentations
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, results-oriented organization
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
