Pacific Coast Stage Co. is hiring a **Marketing Coordinator** for their 13th annual Nanaimo Fringe Festival. The Festival runs August 10-20th, 2023 across various indoor/outdoor venues in downtown Nanaimo.
- Mission: Pacific Coast Stage Co. nurtures Central Vancouver Island’s emerging theatre artists. We facilitate collaboration, development, and experimentation with all artists we work with, and are committed to the preservation of unbounded artistic freedom._

The **Marketing Coordinator** will receive arts event mentorship under Pacific Coast Stage Co.'s Artistic Managing Producer and Associate Artistic Producer (Producing Staff). They will complete a variety of tasks in collaboration with the Festival Producer, Volunteer Coordinator, Graphic Designer, and Festival Photographer.
- Reporting to the Artistic Managing Producer (AMP), services will include, but are not limited to:_
- Plan and implement a marketing and publicity strategy, that you communicate to PCSC Producing Staff
- Manage all poster & program distribution, with the AMP’s direction
- Promote, advertise and recruit festival volunteers, record all contact/availability information accurately and pass on to Festival Producer (FP)
- Arrange and attend artist interviews, providing ample notice and clear communications
- Set up interviews with PCSC Producing staff, providing clear and effective scheduling communications and ample notice
- Liaise with the Festival Photographer and schedule them in to photograph specific shows, events etc
- Maintain and update the Nanaimo Fringe website, Facebook page, Youtube channel, Instagram page and Twitter page with relevant content (social media); respond to public enquiries within the realms of your knowledge and defer to AMP/AAP as appropriate.
- Establish a PCSC TikTok account and presence.
- Create Mailchimp newsletters and communications; Connecting with community stakeholders to provide comp tickets etc.
- Liaise with Tourism Nanaimo and other community stakeholders on festival promotions
- Produce copy for Fringe ads
- Liaise with AMP on placing ads after start of contract
- Create and distribute press releases
- Coordinate Fireside chat recordings for July and August
- Support FP and VC with all postering and flyering, utilizing volunteer support as available
- Pursue grass roots promo opportunities: i.e. attend weekly Night Market with Volunteer Coordinator
- Develop a brand communications style guide for future use
- Report to the AMP, and when unsure of a policy or procedure, contact the FP, or if unavailable, either the AMP or the AAP, 100% of the time
- Compile marketing report upon completion of contract - review success/challenges of the Fringe strategy/campaigns, with recommendations for future enhancements
- Perform all other reasonable requests from PCSC Producing Staff
- Be flexible, patient, a problem solver, punctual and meet all deadlines
- Work within and remain under budget
- Retain all approved receipts for reimbursement
- Be open to suggestions and feedback re: marketing/ publicity from PCSC Producing Staff
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period*;
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- *The youth must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning of the employment period._
- **International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible. As the objective of the Canada Summer Jobs program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student’s time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market._
