**Position Summary**:
Work in close collaboration with the marketing manager as well as the clinical and alumni team to present and promote Edgewood in a positive, professional manner to potential clients, alumni and the recovery community at large. The Communications and Social Media Coordinator may travel to various recovery events and collaborate with various referral sources, competitors, and community partners, in order to further develop relationships within the recovery community.

**General Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Continue to develop and strengthen Edgewood’s alumni relations by assisting with the writing, graphic design, and promotion of all alumni events and communications including producing content for Edgewood’s monthly newsletter.
- Assist in the coordination of community events, fundraisers & other collaborations.
- Strengthen Edgewood’s community profile by developing a stronger presence by aligning with local organizations such as:

- Alano Club
- Rotary
- Chamber of Commerce
- Take the lead on planning and implementing local events such as:

- Edgewood’s Run For Recovery
- Work with the alumni coordinator and alumni social committee to support event coordination, promotion and logístical management including, but not limited to:

- Monthly Cake Night Celebrations (in person and online)
- Alumni Picnics
- Pancake Breakfasts
- Community Recovery Events (Pride, Soberfest, Recovery Day, etc)
- Golf Tourney
- Spaghetti Dinner
- Develop a facility based social media strategy improving engagement with Edgewood Facebook followers, alumni, friends and family. This will include creating content relating to events, celebrations, testimonials, etc, through various social media channels.
- Take an active role in Edgewood’s EDI committee and support and implement the mission of the committee by developing awareness and creating more equality, diversity and inclusion within the Edgewood culture.
- Be responsible for organizing internal special events including seasonal displays and activities. Such events include, but are not limited to:

- Culturally diverse and seasonal displays:

- Black History Month, Truth & Reconciliation Day, Diwali, Pride, etc
- Spring Display, Fall Display, Christmas Display, etc
- Seasonal patient activities. (Valentine’s day crafts, Thanksgiving gratitude leaves, etc.)
- Take the lead on Edgewood’s annual Christmas Campaign including:

- Patient gifts, stockings, etc,
- Corporate gift giving
- Related activities
- Work with senior leadership to organize and implement staff engagement and appreciation opportunities.
- Assist with travel coordination as needed.
- Support the development of internal PowerPoint presentations and ensure brand guidelines are maintained.
- Other administrative and marketing responsibilities as required.

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary degree or college diploma in communications, social media marketing, event planning or an equivalent combination of experience and qualifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop or Canva.
- Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
- Customer service oriented; interested in working within a confidential addiction treatment setting.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize.
- Knowledge of general office procedures.
- Ability to multi-task as well as thrive and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
- Ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, empathy and patience in providing quality services to patients, families and referrals.
- Creative thinker and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of business personnel and build strong working relationships.
- Knowledge or experience working in the addiction treatment field an asset.

**Conditions of Employment**:

- Reports directly to the Marketing Manager.
- Six-month probation period.
- Annual performance review.
- Annual vacation and statutory holidays as per personnel policies.
- Sick leave as per personnel policy schedule.
- Normal work hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with one half hour paid lunch period.
- Overtime may be required.
- Salaries will be reviewed annually and be adjusted according to budget and performance.
