We are looking for a dedicated individual to join the Audit team in the role of AVP Internal Audit, Change and Data Management. Aviva’s Internal Audit purpose is “to help the Board and Executive Management protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of Aviva.”

The function is a global function in the Aviva Group, working across Aviva’s business units. The role has considerable exposure and influence on strategic decision-makers across the Group.

Under the guidance of the Chief Audit Officer and Head of Internal Audit, assesses and reports on the effectiveness of the design and operation of the framework of controls which enable risk to be assessed and managed, through the delivery of a portfolio of Change and Data Management reviews, as to the adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment.

What you'll do:

- Supporting the development and leading the delivery of the Change and Data Management components of the audit plan through a deep and broad understanding of the risks facing the business for the area of responsibility, including additional ad hoc/ bespoke audit work as required.
- Identify requirements and lead specialists to ensure highly specialized technical knowledge and experience are applied appropriately to Change and Data Management audit reviews.
- Advising a portfolio of Change and Data Management audit reviews and leading technical or sophisticated reviews where appropriate, providing overall quality control on reviews in the area of responsibility/portfolio to ensure overall delivery is to the required standard.
- Delivering and owning the timely production of high-quality concise audit issues, findings, and audit reports.
- Partner and relationship management at a senior management level within the business.
- Ensuring quality control in the portfolio of reviews in line with the Audit methodology.
- Contributing to producing reports to Internal Audit’s key stakeholders (e.g., Audit Committees, Risk Committees, and Board Committees etc.) and through these influencing management actions to deliver a more effective controls' framework.
- Identifying areas for improvement in the operation of the audit team.
- Contribution to (and, where appropriate, leading)broader IA initiatives and projects.
- Responsible for both own development, ensuring objectives are met, personal development plans are in place, and mentoring/providing feedback to colleagues who are supporting audit delivery.

What you'll bring:

- Degree and professional qualification preferred.
- Professional audit/ IT qualification (e.g., CISA, CIA, CISSP) or equivalent business experience required.
- Detailed Change and Data Management knowledge, including new and developing technologies such as AI and Cloud (not limited to)
- Understanding of Canadian Regulatory regime.
- Risk identification and measurement
- Sustained audit experience, preferably in insurance / financial services or an audit or consulting firm in the financial services domain.
- Good knowledge of financial / risk/insurance-related topics.
- Experience in leading complex projects/reviews, leading small-medium teams.
- Experience in managing senior-level relationships and influencing their behavior.
