Indigenous and non-Indigenous public policy and legislative process expertise needed

Develop strategic partnerships to advance Indigenous agriculture and food across Canada by engaging FCC leaders and teams, government, industry, and Indigenous communities, national and regional representative organizations, councils and associations.

Using your passion for collaboration and your ability to generate innovative solutions, you’ll be responsible for the execution of FCC’s Indigenous Relations Strategy and Indigenous Reconciliation Action Plan.

**What you’ll do**:

- Develop and implement an effective Indigenous, government and industry relations strategy in support of Indigenous agriculture and food
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations on Indigenous public policy formulation to senior management
- Liaise with FCC employees on external Indigenous relations and stakeholder issues
- Update and implement FCC’s Indigenous Relations Strategy and Indigenous Reconciliation Action Plan, and support annual reporting on progress
- Work within FCC and with stakeholders to develop innovative models that create access to capital for Indigenous ag and food projects and under-represented groups
- Support the National Circle for Indigenous Agriculture and Food (NCIAF) by building and leveraging FCC and industry networks to support the pillars of reconciliation, business development and capacity building
- Manage customer issues in partnership with government relations, including requests for information, customer complaint resolution and responses to inquiries from the Minister’s office

**What you’ll need**:

- A bachelor’s degree in business administration or public administration and at least eight years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Functional expertise in Indigenous public policy issues and government, parliamentary, and legislative processes and procedures
- Extensive knowledge of Indigenous policies, legislation, stakeholders and history
- In-depth knowledge of the agriculture industry
