**The opportunity**

Smythe LLP is seeking an experienced Administrative Manager for our downtown Vancouver office. The Administrative Manager works with senior leadership to plan, direct and oversee the Firm’s Administrative team. Reporting to the CFO, the Administrative Manager works co-operatively with other Operations team members and understands the needs of our Practice Groups and clients. Must be resourceful, an independent thinker, self-sufficient and self-motivated.

**Your day-to-day**
- Leads a team of 20 to 25 administrative support professionals. Communicates standards and expectations for administrative staff and ensures consistency across practice groups
- Provides onsite support and works with the Team Coordinator to ensure administrative coverage
- Provides administrative support during peak periods or to cover short-term gaps
- Recruits, onboards and provides ongoing training for administrative staff
- Coaches, mentors and develops administrative staff. Leads by example
- Works collaboratively with and provides support to other Operations staff (Team Coordinator, Office Coordinator, Operations Coordinator) to ensure seamless business execution
- Collaborates on Firm projects and assists with change management
- Contributes to Firm committees including the Joint Health & Safety Committee
- Supports process improvement, managing costs and department reporting. Contributes to the Firm’s intranet and learning platform

**What you bring**
- Progressive experience in a similar role with a minimum of seven years of managing direct reports; professional services firm preferred
- Knowledge of administrative technical skills and organizational effectiveness
- Familiarity with business and financial principles
- Excellent communication skills with a client centered approach to work
- Strong leadership and people-management abilities
- Education in business or related field is an asset

**You will need to**
- Attend your primary office location five days a week (downtown Vancouver)
- Occasional in-town travel to other Smythe offices or attend meetings
