**Who we need**:
**What you will do**:

- Provide one-on-one support to students requiring academic accommodations to explore options that address students’ functional limitations while upholding bona fide academic essential requirements.
- Conduct intake appointments, assess needs, and verify documentation to determine student’s eligibility for accommodations and support services.
- Manage the delivery of a comprehensive and integrated set of academic accommodations and accessibility-related services for all on-campus and online students.
- Recommend acquisition of and manage the use of technologies that facilitate the accessibility of students with disabilities to Yorkville University and Toronto Film School courses.
- Collaborate with faculty and program leads to implement reasonable and appropriate accommodations.
- Advocate on behalf of students by promoting inclusive learning practices.
- Maintain confidential student records.
- Support students with disability-based government funding, CSG-DSE, BSWD, StudentAid, etc.
- Refer students for additional support as applicable.
- Liaising with heads of academic programs, faculty members, Registrar’s Office staff, program advisors, and librarians as required to ensure the effective implementation of individualized academic accommodation plans.
- Delivery of workshops; support development of resources for faculty and staff related to academic accommodations and accessibility options for students.
- Researching and posting comprehensive and up-to-date FAQs about academic accommodations.
- Adhere to existing procedures and processes related to records management.
- Document and maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with privacy legislation.
- Develop and maintain resources to support the knowledge and implementation of academic accommodations.

**What you bring**:

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preference will be given to master’s degree holders.
- 1-3 years related experience, preference will be given to those with academic or student services experience.
- Experience supporting students with disabilities considered a very strong asset.
- Working knowledge of human rights and related legislations as it applies to postsecondary education in Canada.
- Demonstrated ability to work from a strengths-based, anti-oppressive model to address diverse student needs.
- Ability to communicate clearly, convincingly, and professionally.
- Proven ability to deal with matters of extreme sensitivity and confidentiality in difficult situations.
- Diplomatic and tactful nature in negotiating complex situations calmly and persuasively in a constantly evolving area.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work and deal with multiple demands under time-sensitive pressures.
- Excellent communication and technology skills to support hybrid and remote work environments and data management systems.
- Strong understanding of professional limitations.
- Must be computer literate and proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office, Adobe, data management, and can quickly learn other software programs used in online learning.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
- Culturally sensitive.
