**The salary range for this position is**:
**Recruitment range: $68,897- $75,964** starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.

**Performance range: starting salary to max of $89,609** is available through annual performance increases.
- Job SummaryReporting to the Director of Administration in the HSD Dean’s Office, this position plays an integral role as leader, liaison, and capacity-builder for research support activities within the Faculty of Human and Social Development. The Research Support Team Lead works closely with the Associate Dean, Research to help implement the direction and goals of the Faculty’s strategic plans as they pertain to research and scholarship. This position assists with the development and implementation of sound administrative policies and processes that support the scholarly endeavors of the Faculty.

This position provides expertise in the administration of research grants and contracts in the Faculty of Human and Social Development. The HSD Research Support Team Lead is responsible for research-related programming and training. This position advises with and builds capacity for faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, and grant-funded research staff on funding agency financial administration policies and the university’s research regulatory (e.g. ethics, biosafety, data management), accounting, and budget management processes and systems (e.g. FAST, RAIS). This position provides creative and collaborative problem-solving for research-related financial, payroll, and human resource issues. The position provides post-award assistance by liaising between HSD researchers and relevant UVic offices and external funding bodies; supporting the hiring and onboarding of new faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, and grant-funded research staff; and the monitoring expenses and supporting reports to funding agencies. The position also provides pre-award assistance during particularly busy periods and when other staff are unavailable. This position has supervisor responsibilities for one CUPE staff and one PEA staff member.
- Job RequirementsThis position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a university degree in a relevant discipline (Indigenous studies, health, behavioural or social sciences, education, or similar) plus three (3) years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

- Experience writing briefing notes and reports for various audiences.

- The ability to contribute to efficient and effective strategies in consultation with leadership and adapt to changing needs and conditions as needed.
- Knowledge and experience with university accounting services and procedures, and university research grant procedures and guidelines are an asset.
