THE BASICS

During the busy times, we have plenty of leads coming in so there won't be much cold-calling. You will assess client's needs, offer them solutions, and calculate budget pricing. You will spend time on site meeting with clients and measuring up. The position also includes managing your projects - you will be on site with the techs from time to time making sure things run smoothly. The projects will range from new installations, retrofits to follow up service work, on all types of rolling door, overhead door and gate systems.

Home base would be our Burnaby office, but a hybrid with work from home is possible.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced door tech looking to spend less time on the tools but still stay in the industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with client to come up with solution for their unique door needs.
- Displays or demonstrates commercial and emphasizes selling features.
- Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Reads builder and commercial blue prints/scopes of work in order to quote larger jobs.
- Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of suppliers manufacturing schedules and our in house installation schedule.
- Builds relationship with clients.
- Some travel is required.
- Represent Doormaster in a professional manor
- Attends trade shows, home shows, and trainings to sell product and further expand knowledge.
- Assist in collecting monies due to to Doormaster from clients who have exceeded their credit terms. Assist in COD collections when needed.
- Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 year + outside sales experience in garage door or construction type industry is required.
- Excellent English telephone, written and verbal communication skills with both clients and coworkers.
- Entrepreneurial spirit - A self-confident and assured individual who is able to command respect, think quickly and work independently as well as part of the team.
- Mechanical/Electrical aptitude - ability to use a tape measure accurately is very important.
- Ability to write estimates and reports.
- Attention to detail and problem solving.
- Basic math skills required.
- Willingness to learn product and processes.
- Must have clean, valid Drivers License.
- Clean criminal record.

**This job is salary and commission based.

Position starts at $70,000 / year, negotiable depending on industry related experience.
