The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for clerical and receptionist duties in the accounting department. They will also be responsible for day-to-day tasks as well as assisting the accounting department as directed. The most common duties will include (but not limited to):

- Answering and directing phone calls
- Taking payments from customers
- Reconciling/Reviewing freight invoices
- Supporting accounting staff where directed
- Supporting accounting staff with month end closure procedures
- Preparing bank deposits and general ledger postings
- General filing
- Contacting customers to notify them of delinquent accounts
- Collection and shorting of mail and checks
- Entering vendor/freight invoices
- Function in accordance with accounting standards and procedures

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting practices
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of Sage 50 and/or Pinnacle Professional will be considered an asset.
- Willingness to learn and grow in the role
- Work experience in a elated field will be considered an asset but is not a requirement
- Applicants enrolled in secondary education in related field will take precidence but is not required

**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Abbotsford, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
- Sage 50: 1 year (preferred)
