Marketing & Communications Coordinator

As a member of the United Active Living (UAL) team, you will support the implementation of strategic sales, marketing and communication plans to achieve UAL’s occupancy goals, build and foster positive brand awareness, and enhance the experience of UAL’s stakeholders including residents, families, and employees. You will develop compelling communications and support the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies. You’ll also lead the execution of UAL’s social media strategy and will conduct in-depth research, data collection, and analysis to assess the impact and inform decision making for UAL’s marketing and communication initiatives.
**Responsibilities**
**Communications**
- Support execution of UAL’s marketing and communications plan
- Utilize a variety of communication platforms and tools to maintain and strengthen communications with key stakeholders
- Support development of UAL’s social media strategy and lead execution of related tactics
- Content development for UAL’s monthly blog and other external communications
- Research communication and marketing trends to support adoption of leading practices, inform key messages, public relations initiatives, and crisis communications
**Marketing**
- Support development of marketing materials and messaging
- Research and recommend strategic partnership opportunities
- Monitor social media channels, industry news, and emerging issues
- Monitor and evaluate communications and marketing materials to maintain and enhance brand consistency
**Stakeholder Relations**
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders through consistent presence in communities and regular attendance and support of events and programs
- Build trust among stakeholders to support UAL’s ability to garner positive testimonials and reviews
**Administrative**
- Distribute communications and monitor results
- Coordinate with vendors on marketing projects
- Support timely and accurate invoicing and expense reconciliation
- Conduct regular content review and updates (website, social media, etc.)
- Manage, organize, and analyze data
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
- Certificate or degree in journalism, marketing, communications, public relations or related field
- 1 - 3 years of relevant work experience
- In-depth knowledge of social media platforms
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Proficiency with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Hootsuite, Wordpress, Mailchimp
- Knowledge of other tools such as Google Analytics, MailerLite, Canva, Zoom, and Slido considered an asset
- Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management systems considered an asset
- Ability to travel in the Calgary area with valid class 5 driver’s license

**Working Conditions**
- Work requires ability to work a flexible schedule
- Occasional weekend and/or evening work is required
- Hybrid role (40% work from home and 60% in community)
