We are looking for highly motivated, values driven team players to join our Health and Fitness team.

Nature and Scope

As a Wellness Coach you will be responsible for delivering high quality, value-based health and wellness programs and services to members. You must be a proactive relationship builder who works hard to create a safe and welcoming environment.

**Location**: Peter Gilgan Family YMCA, 410 Rebecca Street, Oakville, Ontario.

**Hours of work**: Full-Time and Part Time needed. Monday-Sunday during hours of operation.

**Salary & Benefits**:

- Rate of pay $15.50 per hour

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and deliver effective and enjoyable health and fitness programs and actively coach YMCA members to achieve their personal health and wellness goals
- Demonstrate superior customer service and team work
- To welcome and engage with all members while on the wellness floor,and offer help assistance and guidance when asked
- Demonstrate the vision of the YMCA by developing meaningful, long-lasting relationships with members through purposeful interactions
- Be an Ambassador for the YMCA through consistent, excellent membership service and support
- Maintain high member retention by proactively establishing new and maintaining existing member relationship and individual coaching opportunities and connections
- Proactively communicate with members and clients to confirm appointments, follow
- up after appointments and check -in on progress to maintaining positive relationships and retention
- Circulate through the wellness floor engaging with members, coaching them to ensure the safe use of equipment helping them to set and achieve their personal fitness goals
- Understand offerings in the Wellness Centre, Promote, sell (and where possible) deliver Personal Training to members
- Adhere to Adult HFA Policy, Child Protection Policy, health, and safety procedures
- Actively participates in our “Clean Culture” by contributing to the tidying, cleaning and disinfecting of equipment and surfaces

**Requirements**:

- Knowledge and/or education related to exercise science, program design and delivery, fitness, and lifestyle/ change management
- Have a good working knowledge of a variety of fitness equipment
- Excellent customer service skills/interpersonal skills and communications skills a must
- Ability to mutli task while managing the wellness floor
- YMCA Basic Theory or similar an asset
- Previous health / fitness centre work an asset
- Personal Trainer Certification an asset / Group Fitness Certification an asset
- Current CPR and First Aid
- Current Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
