**Yoga Instructor**

**Contract Part-Time (September 2023 - June 2024)**

Monday to Thursday - 4 hours/week

**THE ROLE**
- Prepare and instruct yoga classes to students in grade 9-12
- Provide regular feedback to students on their performance
- Provide a motivating and welcoming learning environment for all students
- Educate students the different practices of Yoga
- Promote interest and enthusiasm for lifelong physical activity
- Encourage and engage students throughout classes
- Provide students opportunities for improvement through individual assessments and appropriate progressions
- Demonstrate a caring rapport with students and serve as a role model
- Prepare the yoga studio prior to each session
- Ensure the school’s AWB Fitness Centre policies and procedures are adhered to

**WHAT YOU BRING**
- Proven experience in leading yoga classes
- Recognized Yoga Instructor certification is required
- A post-secondary degree with relevant specialization i.e. Kinesiology, Wellness, Recreation/Sports Management or related field
- Additional certifications as a personal trainer, fitness instructor, and/or other specialized classes would be considered an asset
- Ability to manage and communicate effectively with students in grades 9-12
- Basic knowledge of human and functional anatomy
- CPR/First Aid and AED certification is an asset
- Knowledge of basic Health and Safety training
