The CDPE is recruiting a Qualitative Research Assistant II, who will hold a part-time, temporary position at St. Michael’s Hospital (20 hours per week; 12 months, with the possibility of extension). The Qualitative Research Assistant will assist with organizing several projects and champion the CDPE’s administrative function. The position will primarily focus on a study to evaluate safer opioid supply pilot programs implemented across Canada.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supports the investigative team in the development and implementation of work plans, study protocols, study materials and processes, and manuscript production schedules
- Supports knowledge translation and exchange activities (contributing to peer-reviewed publications, study reports, and presentations)
- Performs coding and qualitative data analysis
- Supports development and coordination processes related to data management, analysis, and transfer
- Supports participant recruitment and the collection of study-related data
- Supports identification, monitoring, and keeping team apprised of potential funding opportunities, as well as opportunities to disseminate their work (e.g., conferences)
- Assists with the development and submission of program reports for funders
- Contributes to the development of website content (e.g., project and publication updates)
- Assists with posting website content using a web-based content management system
- Contributes to the organization of several CDPE projects
- Builds research study surveys using online survey tools

**Qualifications and skills**:

- A graduate degree or in the process of completing a graduate degree, preferably in Public Health, Nursing, Sociology, social work, or a related field, or demonstrable equivalent combination of specialized education and experience
- Previous experience with qualitative analysis software, such as NVIVO and ATLAS.ti
- Experience analyzing and presenting research results, including developing manuscripts for peer review
- A firm understanding of harm reduction and the overdose epidemic is an asset
- Experience using online survey tools, such as Simple Survey is an asset
- Experience in point of care testing (HIV and Hep C), pre and post-test counselling, and case management is an asset
- Prior knowledge of St. Michael’s Hospital’s or Unity Health’s administrative processes is an asset
- Experience using online survey tools, such as Simple Survey
- Experience with desktop publishing software is an asset (e.g., Adobe Suite, web-based platforms)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills
- Accomplished ability to multi-task, work accurately and effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines
- Fully proficient in the use of MS Office software
