The Drug Development Program at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is the largest new drug development program in Canada and the only centre outside of the United States to have a contract with the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Drug Development Program includes a Phase II program, focusing on studies across the various phases of trials with a strong emphasis on pharmacokinetics, translational studies and Investigator Initiated Trials. It involves a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach and is strategically designed to ensure the rapid completion of high quality studies.

The Administrative Assistant I supports the Drug Development Program - Phase II and works directly with Clinical Research Managers. Principal responsibilities include administrative support for payroll submission, onboarding new staff, office inventory and supplies, archiving of trial documents, obtaining signatures from Physicians, scanning and filing, upkeep and maintenance of staff documents, and other relevant task as assigned by the Research Managers.

**Qualifications**:

- Community College Diploma in General or Medical Office or equivalent Administration
- At least one (1) to two (2) years of related experience
- Completion of a medical terminology course(s) is an asset.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality as per UHN and departmental policies
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills
- Previous on-the-job computer/word-processing, database and spreadsheet software experience
- Experience in a Microsoft Office environment
- Experience working in a health care environment and asset
- Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks while maintain a high level of attention to detail.
- Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies
- Satisfactory attendance
