**Air Operations Specialist**

**About the role**

Reporting to the Air Import Manager, the **Air Operations Specialist **will be meticulous and accountable as they will set priorities and organize workload assigned in an efficient manner. If you can work in a fast-paced environment, this job is for you

**Responsibilities**
- Respond to expedited client shipment requests
- Book with the respective cargo operators and transport companies based on the client need and request
- Prepare sale rate quotation to the client based on the best cost/ service solution provided by the transport companies
- Shipment’s pickup arrangements and planning for trips based on client timelines
- Shipment tracking, handling, billing, delivery, and release
- Review and approval of suppliers’ invoices if required
- Correspondence with Overseas offices
- Responsible for resolving in a diligent and business efficient manner customer complaints and implement measures to prevent their frequency and recurrence
- Responsible to resolve internal and operation problems on a diligent and business efficient manner in order to prevent service deficiencies and/or customers’ dissatisfaction
- Improve on an ongoing basis internal systems and procedures in order to favor customer service and department internal efficiency
- Other tasks and duties assigned by the manager from time to time
- Availability for afterhours follow up and attend to client calls for critical shipments

**Role Requirements**
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in air freight import or export operations
- Trucking, Courier, Hand carry experience is a plus
- Good knowledge of the Canadian and US Air processes and regulations
- Good understanding of time sensitive shipments and ability to make quick turnaround for client request
- Read, monitor, and respond promptly to all incoming communications (clients and other business partners - domestic and overseas) to properly manage and control daily operational issues
- Customer service oriented
- Understands the importance of teamwork and of maintaining harmonious and collaborative relations with his/her superiors, working colleagues and other departments' or stations' personnel
- Person meticulous and accountable
- Ability to set priorities and organize workload assigned in an efficient manner
- Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and in French, verbal and written

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Saint-Laurent, QC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Freight: 2 years (required)
- aviation: 1 year (preferred)
- operations: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Drivers License (5 or 7) (preferred)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Saint-Laurent, QC
