**What This Position is About**:
The Research Technician plays a key role in applied research projects at the Centre for Applied Machine Intelligence and Integration Technologies (CAMIIT).

This position will be responsible for administering daily operations at CAMIIT’s embedded systems lab and Advanced Manufacturing lab. The incumbent will assist the research team in development, testing and validation and any other physical work required in CAMIIT’s applied research projects. In collaboration with the lead Research Scientist, the incumbent will support project requirements according to project plans, including testing and validation, preparing documents, data analysis, performing lab tests and site tests, writing reports and providing the lead Research Scientist and Operation Manager with regular updates. The incumbent will play a key role in the execution of the research projects, working directly with other CAMIIT staff including Research Technologists, Research Scientists and Research Assistants.

**Work Schedules**:
This position has been designated as on-campus and is expected on-site 100% of the time.

**What We Are Looking For**:
Completion of a two year diploma in Electrical Engineering Technician or similar field of study. A minimum of 1 year of work/research experience in embedded system design or similarly inclined role including the following is required:

- Knowledgeable in programming and troubleshooting of microcontrollers and embedded control systems.
- Good understanding of electronics circuits.
- Hands-on experience in soldering and circuit assembly.
- Good communication, interpersonal and collaborative relationship building skills.
- Ability to understand advanced technical concepts.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player (with multiple teams) with a commitment to provide customer-service.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced business environment featuring critical deadlines, multiple projects and competing priorities.
