***GIS & Data Analyst****:
Reporting to the Supervisor of GIS and Data services, this position will create, present and maintain GIS and non-GIS Data. The GIS and Data Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day operational support of the Towns’ GIS and Data work and will lead small to medium sized GIS and Data projects. This position works with staff from other Town departments as required, to accommodate their GIS and Data needs including creating data models, data analysis, reports and web maps, figures and display graphics and other business intelligence initiatives. The GIS and Data Analyst also aids staff in the preparation for Council/Committees meetings, municipal board hearings and responds to requests from the public and private sectors.

***Key Duties**:

- Resolve GIS and Data related service requests and implements GIS and Data Projects
- Create, load, manipulate, analyze, and develop geographical and associated tabular data
- Compile, format, and distribute data to Town staff, customers, and other government agencies
- Assist with developing data quality control standards and policies
- Develop and produce GIS mapping products including the design and implementation of digital maps for both external and internal customers
- Develop and maintain the GIS enterprise database, as well as datasets hosted on ArcGIS Online
- Develop ETL (Extract, Transfer, Load) processes to automate data capture and quality.
- Provide GIS training and advocate the use of GIS and data to Town staff
- GIS technical lead for small to medium sized GIS projects and solutions

**Qualifications/Skills**:

- 3-year University Degree or advanced diploma in Geography, GIS, Data Science, or a related discipline
- 1 year Post Graduate certificate in GIS from a recognized college or university
- 2+ years of relevant experience in developing and maintaining GIS data, software, data analysis, research, and project management and/or combination of training, education and experience deemed equivalent
- Knowledgeable in core Esri suite of software products (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Online)
- Experience with GPS and field collection tools
- Proficiency with database programming languages such as SQL, R or Python
- Proficiency with front end design languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and various mapping languages such as ArcGIS Arcade
- Experience with ETL technologies such as FME considered an asset
- Demonstrated skills relating to project management and/or business analysis
- Knowledge of systems integrations
- Knowledge of accessibility standards
- Experience with statistical research, such as working with demographic data
- Practical experience implementing web services is considered an asset
- Superior customer service skills
- Strong organization, time management, interpersonal and communication skills

***What is Offered to Staff**:

- Pay Range: $37.01 - $39.55 per hour
- Hours of Work: This is a unionized position that works 40 hours per week. The hours of work are Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and are in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement
