As the Payroll and Benefits Administrator, you will work closely with our Senior Payroll and Benefits Administrator. You will be heavily involved in our timesheet verification, payroll preparation and submission, payroll/benefits account reconciliations, payroll tax remittances, benefits administration and remittances. You will also work with the Finance Team to ensure the accurate and successful completion of period end activities and ad-hoc projects.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Process bi-weekly payroll correctly for all salaried and hourly employees, as well as commission, taxable benefits, expense reimbursement, profit sharing, and etc. for multiple entities in Canada and U.S.
- Compile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance and other deductions.
- Extract timesheets and review work hours for completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare necessary payroll, benefit and tax payments and reports.
- Prepare payroll journal entries and accrual reports and reconcile remittances
- Provide guidance and respond appropriately to team members regarding payroll and benefits questions; proactively provide information affecting employee’s benefits and salaries.
- Manage and monitor the payroll ticketing system.
- Develop or improve payroll and benefits procedures.
- Maintain employee profiles and master trackers, ensuring that they are up to date.
- Process enrolments, terminations, or changes to employee records in the benefit and HRIS systems.
- Audit payroll and HRIS to ensure integrity of system and process.
- Stay current with payroll regulations, employment standards and work methods.
- Maintain awareness and ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support the Finance and Payroll team projects and programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum 2 years of payroll and group benefits administration experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of payroll and payroll tax laws required.
- Experience with Human Resources Information System is a plus.
- Experience using Ceridian Dayforce is a plus.
- Basic accounting knowledge is an asset.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills to meet deadlines.
- Strong work ethic, self-motivated with willingness to learn.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A team player with a sense of humour in a professional way.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook and Excel.

**Salary**: $31,300.00-$177,977.02 per year
