Pension Payroll Specialist

**What is the opportunity?**

Join a team which is responsible for paying over 30,000+ pensioners across all provinces in Canada and globally, using a vendor for a monthly payroll frequency. This position involves payroll review, audit, ensuring accuracy, completeness & timeliness. Requires legislative compliance, including Guernsey Taxes. The role includes preparing non-standard manual payments, such as pensioner lumpsum, etc., create and post journal entries and assist with yearend processing, input, and corrections as required.

**What will you do?**
- Process a monthly payroll for pensioners located in various countries and Guernsey Taxes. Tier 3 (highest & most complex) problem resolution. Investigate and develop resolution independently and determine when to collaborate with specialty HR areas to arrive at a resolution.
- Utilize multiple sources, including past experience, product knowledge and reference material to resolve issues.
- Review payroll reports for accuracy and coordinate various payroll activities with the vendor.
- Document processes, create and update job aids ensuring instructions are continuously maintained.

- Strong understanding of payroll policies, employment standard policies and government related policies.
- Strong analytical ability and problem solving capability Ability to analyze processes, make recommended changes to support improvements and communicate these to the manager

- High level of accuracy
- CPA designation (PCP or CPM) or payroll experience
- Intermediate Excel Skills and MS Word
- Excellent communication skills - verbal & written
- Ability to work in a team and flexible hours

**Nice to Have**
- University Degree or equivalent
- Advanced MS Excel Skills
- Knowledge of pension payroll
- Process improvement experience

**Job Summary**

Administers overall payroll production and ensures the timely and accurate delivery of payroll and related services. Applies complete knowledge, skills, and practices to perform assignments.
