**Your Key Responsibilities**

Responsibilities related to this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Independently execute a variety of field programs including, but not limited to, visits to industrial, residential, commercial and institutional client sites, sampling/monitoring for physical, chemical and biological hazards (e.g., asbestos and lead sampling, noise testing, mould testing), and presenting training sessions on various health, safety and industrial hygiene topics as necessary
- Carry out office duties such as data management, analysis and interpretation, report preparation, proposal preparation, and other general tasks
- Analyze field and technical data, and author technical reports
- Perform microscopic analysis for bulk asbestos samples, airborne asbestos samples and airborne and surface mould samples
- Learn and follow standard operating procedures for work assigned, while continuing to develop skills

- Show initiative in integrating creativity and innovation in all work tasks
- Demonstrate knowledge of applicable provincial and federal environmental regulations and guidelines
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure and within short timelines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD is an asset
- Be conscientious, organized, and disciplined
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to obtain a federal reliability security clearance
- Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs

**Education and Experience**
- The successful applicant will have some combination of the following educational background and work experience:

- Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or similar discipline or Diploma in an applicable environmental discipline.
- Prior experience in an engineering or consulting environment is an asset.

This position will involve a combination of field and office work. The typical office environment will involve working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods. Fieldwork may include travel to remote locations in (road or air), exposure to the elements including inclement weather, working at heights or in crawlspaces, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including the use of respiratory protection (e.g., respirators). Evening and weekend work may be required.
