**Purpose of the position**

The position will be responsible for (but not limited to):

- Establishing and maintaining strategic external and internal networks to support economic growth;
- Leading department staff to develop and implement strategic planning initiatives to attract new business and retain existing business in order to diversify the County's economy and tax base;
- Developing, coordinating, and monitoring the department budget;
- Preparing reports, recommendations, and providing information in support of economic investment matters to ensure relevant/current data is collected and shared (and delivering to Council & Senior Leadership);
- Other duties as assigned.

To be successful in this position, you will come to us with:

- A Bachelor's Degree in Economic Development, Business (Commerce), Planning, Public Relations, or a closely related field is required. A Master's Degree would be an asset.
- 5-7 years' experience in a related field and 3-5 years related senior management or leadership experience.
- _ A combination of related education and experience may be considered_
- Membership in the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC), with certified Economic Development (Ec.D) designation is a strong asset.
- Proven experience and knowledge in business planning with strong communication skills from working with multiple stakeholder groups and government agencies.
- A satisfactory Drivers Abstract and Criminal Record Check
- Position details:

- Full-time permanent position (Monday to Friday with some weekend obligations required)
- Salary: _currently under review_
- Compensation also includes: 3 weeks' vacation plus management days, a comprehensive Health & Dental benefits package (100% employer paid), and participation in our LAPP Pension plan.
