- Offering sincere and friendly hospitality to everyone.
- Greet and register guests promptly and efficiently.
- Provide prompt and courteous service.
- Close out guest accounts upon completion of stay.
- Taking and/or modifying reservations.
- Operating according to the Marriott brand high standards of quality.
- Use a positive and clear speaking voice.
- Listen to and understand requests.
- Respond with appropriate action and provide accurate information such as outlet hours and local attractions.
- Handle cash, make change and balance an assigned house bank.
- Post charges to guest rooms and house accounts using the computer.
- Promptly answer the telephone using positive and clear communication.
- Input messages into the computer.
- Retrieve messages and communicate the content to the guest.
- Retrieve mail, small packages and facsimiles for customers as requested.
- Close guest accounts at time of check out and ascertain satisfaction.
- In the event of dissatisfaction, negotiate compromise, which may include authorizing revenue allowances.
- Field guest complaints, conducting thorough research to develop the most effective solutions and negotiate results.
- Listen and extend assistance to resolve problems such as price conflicts, insufficient heating or air conditioning, etc.
- Remain calm and alert especially during emergency situations and heavy hotel activity.
- Plan and implement detailed steps by using experienced judgment and discretion.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. Weekends & Holidays are required due the nature of the hotel industry.
Minimum Qualifications and Expectations:
- Must be exceptional with guest interaction and guest service.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment being able to effectively deal with guest issues with patience and efficiently.
- Must be a team player - willing to assist co-workers with job duties at all times.
- Ability to communicate in English. Professional appearance and behavior is a must.
- Ability to stand and move throughout front office and continuously perform essential job functions.
- Must have previous front desk experience.
- Must be exceptional with guest service.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to work shift work and weekends.
- Must be in Saskatoon.
