The Manager, Facilities Services oversees the effective and efficient management of the physical assets at the Surrey campus. Administers the campus operating and maintenance budget and manages resources in support of the current, future, and long-term facility needs and requirements. Conducts analysis on facilities related issues and financial requirements in order to provide information and recommendations on the current or potential facility use. The position is a liaison between the SFU Surrey community and the supervisor, and resolves facilities concerns as they arise, including troubleshooting for operational issues. The Manager provides project management for facilities upgrades, renovations, and capital projects. The role provides on-site support of campus life-safety and security systems, including CCTV and access control. The Manager works closely with the supervisor on strategic and operational resource planning and develops policies and procedures regarding the operations and maintenance of SFU Surrey buildings.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and a diploma in property management, management systems, facilities management, project management (e.g., RPA, FMA, CPM, CEFP or PMP) and five years of related experience including leading/managing frontline teams meeting operational SLA's and compliance requirements; managing operational budgets and following general accounting principles; work order management as it pertains to execution of services and coordination of employees involved; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to build and maintain business relationships and to exercise tact, diplomacy, and discretion in a Facility Management. Operations/Engineering role with a strong emphasis on customer service.
- Strong computer proficiency skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Good knowledge of basic mathematical concepts to calculate ROI's, create proposals, create cost savings programs, and adhere to operating budgets.
- Excellent budget planning and financial management skills.
- Excellent, leadership, supervisory, communication, and team management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of electrical, mechanical, architectural and building systems, schematics, and drawings.
- Good knowledge of fire, security, and crime prevention practices, and WorkSafe B.C. regulations.
- Good knowledge of preventative maintenance, security systems, and emergency preparedness programs.
- Demonstrated leadership capacity in fostering high performance, client-centered work units.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of initiative and independence.
