Afternoon Shift - 2pm-1130pm, Mon to Fri (must be flexible)

**Job Types**:
Full-time, Permanent | 40hrs/week+

**General Description of Role**:
Responsible for the administration of Quality Assurance functions as they relate to raw material and finished product testing to achieve customer product specifications inclusive of routine microbiological testing and results analysis and general administrative duties.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Inspection/collection of incoming raw materials, dry ingredients and finished product for microbiological, chemistry tests and other tests, sending samples to internal or external accredited laboratory.
- Inspection/audit of incoming raw materials, dry ingredients and packaging by conducting weight / count measurements and organoleptic analysis for conformance as per Food Safety and Quality Manual.
- Monitor SOP’s (Standard Operating procedures), personal hygiene, product handling (raw materials, in process or finished) for temperatures, weights, shapes, injection, cook up and other product specifications.
- Document results of Raw material, Dry ingredients and other product evaluations. Report abnormalities and out of specification conditions to immediate QA Manager/Plant Supervisor.
- Observe and coach plant employees to comply with GMPs.
- Document and report all Non-Conformances including corrective actions and Incident Reports for tracking food safety and quality issues in a timely manner.
- Collect, update and maintain Raw materials, Dry ingredients and other product specification databased and distribute accordingly.
- Update and maintain the Visual Quality Standards database for raw materials.
- Verify COAs (Certificate of Analysis) for all incoming Raw materials, Dry Ingredients and other products.
- Perform monitoring and verification of various tasks based on HACCP program and Food Safety and Quality Manual
- Verify production and HACCP reports for accuracy and follow up with production department when needed.
- Calibrate the necessary equipment based on the procedures.
- Verify the pre-op inspections and sanitation process as per HACCP program.
- Assist other departments with allergen information for the products as needed.
- Responsible for holding the non-conforming product. Assists with investigation of processing deviations.
- Investigate the customer complaints as required and provide this information to QA Manager.
- Train staff in GMPs/CCPs/SOPs as required
- Maintain the lab, work areas and equipment clean at all times.

**Qualifications**:

- College education in food related field of study
- Knowledge of safe food handling, GMPs, Food plant sanitation, HACCP
- Understanding of manufacturing food processes
- Computer literacy: Basic level spreadsheets, word processing, and statistics
- Knowledge of safe food handling, GMP’s
- Communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Building and maintaining relationships (both internal and external relationships)
- Detail-oriented, observant
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Effective Time Management
