**Talent Acquisition Assistant**

**Job Summary**

While ensuring legislative, collective agreement, policy and best practice compliance, the incumbent is an impartial resource to facilitate common best practices, continuous improvement and positive change while ensuring a coordinated approach to supporting the execution of equitable and diverse acquisition, onboarding, retention and offboarding practices and related HR services. This position provides an opportunity to drive the faculty’s talent initiatives, communicate the employee value proposition effectively to attract the best employees while supporting equity and inclusive excellence.

**Accountabilities**

**Talent Attraction**
- Coordinate/support any/all aspects of the talent acquisition process/life cycle from end to end;
- Be a McMaster brand ambassador and represent McMaster as a preferred place to work through recruitment activities;
- Post and manage postings on internal & external job boards

**Recruitment Support**:
**Talent Analysis, Reporting and System Champion**:

- Work within the HRIS and applicant tracking system to ensure that we are maximizing system capability for effective recruitments;
- Compiles reports of recruitment activities to identify metrics for analysis and trending purposes;
- Through all acquisition and onboarding activities, encourages compliance with the provisions of the employment

**Other Administration**
- Provide other employment-related administrative support as required i.e. standardized and customized reporting, data and compliance tracking and reconciliation, HRIS entry, facilitating onboarding processes, routine training of HR-related processes, and resolution of issues within scope of role.

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondar degree or diploma in HR or a related field
- Minimum of 1 years of demonstrated experience
- Overall knowledge of HR function, practices and procedures, particularly as it relates to talent acquisition
- Strong communication and decision making skills, with good judgement
- Excellent presentation, facilitation and public speaking skills
- Sound knowledge of talent acquisition and onboarding practices
- Experience in supporting the design and delivery of programs in the area of diversity in recruitment
- High level of competency in qualitative data analysis and data management
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other individuals and groups, including equity seeking groups
- Broad knowledge of institutional structure, policy, regulation and administrative systems in an academic institute preferred
- Ability to work independently and part of a muti disciplinary team
- Knowledge of employment equity and Human Rights Code
