**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provides characterization and quantitative analytics expertise to support projects at different stages in the pipeline, from exploratory characterization to in vivo studies.
- Develops, executes and documents intact protein RPLC-MS, native protein LC-MS and peptide mapping analysis to support antibody-drug-conjugate and muti-specific antibody therapeutic development.
- Develops, executes and documents RPLC-MS (MS/MS) quantitative and qualitative analysis of small molecules in different matrices.
- Supports the Analytics team method development efforts through sample and reagent preparation, instrument setup and data collection and analysis.
- Supports antibody/antigen purification by chromatography (Size Exclusion Chromatography, Affinity Chromatography) using AKTA systems.
- Applies analytical skills and judgment in assessing the quality of data and assay performance. Prepares and disseminates data presentations for group/project meetings, summarizes results, and aids in crafting experimental outlines.
- Participates in MS instrument maintenance and calibration.
- Supports the procurement and organization of reagents and chemicals in the Analytics group.
- Adheres to Zymeworks standard procedures for generating, documenting, and archiving data, maintaining an accurate, up-to-date electronic laboratory notebook.
- Conducts all activities in accordance with scientific standards, OS&H regulations and established Zymeworks’ policies and practices.
- May co-author or author scientific papers.
- Actively works to foster an environment of effective and collaborative working relationships amongst employees, management, and external partners.
- Contributes to a safe and highly efficient laboratory environment.

**Education and Experience**:

- Requires a BSc in chemistry, biochemistry or a similar field with a minimum of 2-3 years' related experience.

- Adhere to the highest professional standards and maintain strict confidentiality on matters that require discretion.
- Must be able to work onsite in Vancouver, BC.

**Skills and Abilities**
- Good organizational and time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, fast changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Good oral, presentation, and scientific/technical writing skills.
- Knowledge of GraphPad Prism considered an asset.

**Advanced knowledge and proficiency in the following techniques**
- High performance liquid chromatography.
- Mass spectrometry.
- Protein biochemistry and methods for protein characterization.
- Extraction techniques (protein precipitation, liquid-liquid extraction and SPE).
- Experience with Agilent or WatersHPLC and mass spectrometry instrumentation and software considered an asset.
- General knowledge of antibody and antibody drug conjugate structure/function is an asset.
- Experience with AKTA purification systems is an asset.
- Experience working with biological matrices (plasma, serum) is an asset.
- Experience with Orbitrap mass spectrometry instrumentation is an asset.
