The Environmental Services Manager provides leadership, in collaboration with the Director, Safety and Family Partnership for ES practices across CHEO. He or she is accountable for development, implementation, monitoring and ongoing evaluation of program activities; oversees and maintains ES contracts with internal and external partners; and recruitment and retention of staff.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Recruitment and retention of staff
- Lead and develop quality improvement initiatives for Environmental Service department
- Work with Program leadership to develop a shared vision for ES in alignment with corporate goals
- Act as a resource for ES supervisors
- Develop and maintain partnership agreements with key external partners for linen supplies, waste management, and sharps recycling, shredding and other external partners. Manage Environmental Services and Linen budget
- Ensure timely ordering and maintenance of adequate ES supplies such as but not limited to linen, cleaning supplies, uniforms, and equipment occurs
- ** **Ensure Staff perform work in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all CHEO corporate /departmental policies and procedures related to Occupational Health and Safety and Infection Prevention and Control practices.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Police Record Check (PRC) (Essential)
- Degree/Diploma in environmental services management or hospitality services or related field (Essential)
- University Degree (Essential)
- OHA Environmental Supervisor I- certificate or 3-5 years ES supervisory experience (preferred)
- Computer skills in Microsoft word and excel (Essential)
- 5 years of recent hospital leadership experience Essential)
- Experience leading quality improvement initiatives (Essential)
- Knowledge and experience related to evidence-based practices associated with housekeeping, laundry and maintenance with a strong ability to manage a budget and financial spend (Essential)
- Experience with committee work, including leadership roles on committees (Essential)
- Strong relationship building, consultative and influencing skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills to interact and communicate with diplomacy and tact with all level of management (Essential)
- Knowledge of use of cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubber, floor polishers, carpet cleaning machines; power spray washer, and washer and dryer) (Essential)
- Excellent oral and written communication, organization/ prioritization, and time management skills. Independent learning and time management skills (Essential)
- Demonstrated ability to identify solutionst to both business and systematic issues, and use of sound judgment and logic to make decisions (Essential)
