We're seeking a People and Culture (P&C) Business Partner to join our team. You will be a key member in creating a robust culture within a fun, agile, and tech-emerging company obsessed with people and new technology
**Who You Are**:
We seek someone passionate about recruitment and creating meaningful connections and amazing experiences throughout a full employee life cycle. What this means is that you get to support all areas of HR, including recruitment, onboarding, employee-related matters, and the final journey of an employee. Although this is a stand-alone position, you will be working collaboratively with peers in all departments and leaders in technology, business, and finance.
You should love what you do and be curious to challenge the status quo. You should also have a solid understanding of business operations and be keen to learn and improve your skills, all while helping us grow

What you'll be doing
Providing recruitment progress and updates in a recruitment tracker form and a snapshot of priorities and progress.
Checking in with our talent, mainly software engineers and team members across all departments to keep a pulse on team satisfaction.
Organizing and attending virtual or in-person career fairs and job fairs.
Supporting various immigration routes for our current employees.
Supporting grants and funding for new hires if applicable.
Onboarding new hires in a remote setting and engaging manner.
Supporting managers and managers in personnel-related inquiries and issues, you are the main initial point of contact.
Handling employee conflicts, conduct, and performance concerns diplomatically and confidentially.
Ensuring personnel files and documents are updated on our HRIS system (Bamboo).
Offboarding AEQ team members, whether voluntary or non-voluntary, sensitively and positively as their final journey with Aequilibrium.
Organizing and attending employee events (social, wellness, and other initiatives) that help create a remarkable employee experience remotely and in person.
Openness and willingness to work on various projects as the team grows and we start implementing new areas.

Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple and conflicting priorities

Good team player who brings a smile, positive outlook, and enthusiasm to work
Attention to detail and quick turnaround time
Ability to learn new tools quickly and intermediate experience with Google Docs, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently with good problem-solving skills.
3-5 years of experience in a human resources role that also included recruiting
Experience working in a similar role in a remote environment
Industry experience in Professional Services or working in a tech agency environment or a client-facing role
Experience working in a start-up technology environment
Experience working with an employee base of software engineers
Experience working with employees in Canada and knowledge of Canadian employment laws, particularly in B.C
Nice to Have
Experience with JazzHR (ATS), BambooHR
Experience working with employees located in Toronto and Alberta
Education
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources Preferred.
Role
Reporting to the CEO
Stand-alone HR role but working collaboratively with peers in technology, finance, and sales/marketing.
You will receive support from all department leaders and advisory support from Legal.
Location
This position is located in B.C only
This position will be 100% remote; however, you must be available in person for any employee-related events or career fairs.
