**Position Description**:
The incumbent provides effective and efficient planning, management and execution of Global Learning and Engagement activity at George Brown College. This portfolio includes the oversight of academic and non-academic study abroad initiatives; the systems design related to Global Learning and Engagement information management (e.g. exchange data); the conceptualization and implementation of global engagement funding mechanisms; the creation of robust opportunities for Internationalization at Home; and the effective promotion and profiling of global learning and engagement programs to internal stakeholders.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Identifies and manages resources to facilitate GBC Global Learning initiatives and related activities. This includes files such as global WIL; short-term study tours; international student exchange; charettes and competitions; GBC International Enterprise initiatives; etc.
- Ensures that information/data associated with the above is accurately maintained and analyzed against performance targets and conveys regular updates as required to the VP and AVP
- Uses data to monitor participation in global learning activity by Indigenous, Black, and other students from equity deserving groups, identify barriers, and implement initiatives which serve to increase participation levels.
- Leads the development, coordination, and periodic review of George Brown College’s ‘Internationalization at Home’ priorities with a focus on the inclusion of EDI & I principles and the recognition and inclusion of GBC international students’ lived experience.
- Leads the development, coordination, and periodic review of the GBC co-curricular ‘Cultural Intelligence’ program.
- Leads the development and coordination of operational planning related to Global Learning and Intercultural Engagement.
- Develops, researches, and implements relevant elements of Global Engagement Plan in collaboration with stakeholders including academic divisions, the Teaching & Learning Exchange, the Office of the Registrar, GBC Global regional teams, the Manager, Partnership Development, and Student Success.
- Leads the development, implementation, and periodic review of pre-arrival and orientation activities, in collaboration with Student Success and Office of the Registrar, for inbound students coming to GBC through partnership pathways, articulation agreements, exchange programs, GBCIE initiatives, and other related mobility mechanisms.
- Ensures that inbound students are provided with a high degree of support and accurate, ongoing direction and guidance, referring to colleagues in the Office of the Registrar, Student Success, or the academic divisions as required.
- Other related duties as assigned.

**Educational and Experience Requirements**:

- Four-year degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in Global Affairs, International Business, Project Management, Communications or other related field.
- Graduate Degree with a specialization in education is considered an asset.
- Minimum five (5) years' related experience working in a post
- secondary setting.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and reviewing new processes and procedures.
- Experience in working in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience in international education principles and practices.
- Experience in project management, planning, development, and execution of cross-divisional complex projects, including budgetary responsibility.
- Demonstrated knowledge of intercultural competency frameworks and best practices.

**Skills and Attributes**:

- Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse setting, leading projects that involve several departments.
- Solid report writing, proposal writing, organizational and presentation skills, with proven successful project management experience.
- Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English both oral and written; multiple languages an asset.
- Solid computer skills including use of search engines, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software and meeting management.
- Demonstrated success as a communicator in an international context and sensitivity to the complexities of cross-cultural communication.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, capacity to work effectively under pressure and while traveling abroad for extended periods of time.
