**Job Summary**:
The Town of Carleton Place is seeking a highly motivated and responsible individual to join our Recreation and Culture Department as an **Aquatic Program Assistant**. This role will support daytime aquatic programs, including preschool and school board lessons, lifeguard various swim sessions, and perform facility maintenance.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Deliver high-quality swimming lessons and aquatic programs for participants of all levels.
- Provide lifeguarding services for adult, public, lane swims, and rentals, ensuring participant safety at all times.
- Maintain a clean and safe pool environment through weekly deep cleaning and regular facility maintenance.
- Perform water tests and operate the pool’s Chemtrol system.
- Assist with program administration, including membership and rental bookings.
- Ensure adherence to Aquatic Admission Standards and maintain proper zone coverage.
- Communicate with participants regarding lesson opportunities and accident prevention.
- Attend training and staff meetings as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Required Certifications:_
- National Lifeguard - Pool
- Swim Instructor Certification
- Lifesaving Instructor Certification
- Standard First Aid/CPR C/AED
- Bronze Examiner

**Experience**: 2+ years of related aquatic experience

**Assets**:

- Pool Operator’s Certificate
- Aquafit Instructor Certificate
- Education: High School Diploma
- Skills and Abilities:

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build rapport with the public and maintain professional relationships with staff and patrons
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Strong computer literacy
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

**Working Conditions**:
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and flexible hours as required.

Must be comfortable working in a hot, humid environment around a pool.

Physical requirements include lifting and carrying equipment and moving 50 lb. chemical containers.
