The Compliance Manager will be responsible for supporting National Manager, Compliance in designing, implementing, maintaining and operating an effective Compliance Management System (CMS), meeting all relevant internal and external compliance requirements, and to protect the integrity of the BMW Group, its assets, customers and Associates.

Specific responsibilities include:

- Operates the local Compliance Management System covering these ten Compliance Instruments:

- Definition and regular update of compliance strategy.
- Management of monitoring of relevant legal requirements for compliance.
- Regular compliance risk assessments, including privacy impact assessments and data protection requirement analyses.
- Management of internal rules and regulations.
- Regular compliance communication towards Associates.
- Regular compliance training
- Implementation of compliance processes, tools and IT-systems.
- Compliance case management (inquiries by Associates, customers and authorities, complaints and incidents) including management of compliance measures.
- Regular and ad-hoc compliance reporting to local management and compliance HQ functions. If applicable, also to local supervisory authorities.
- Compliance spot checks, including audits, to ensure effectiveness of internal compliance instruments and measures.
- Serves as the first contact for business lines to drive adherence to Consumer Protection, Corruption Prevention, Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Fraud Programs.
- Responsible for the fulfillment and compliance with Information Protection, Data Privacy, Data Governance and Cybersecurity requirements with federal / provincial laws & BMW Group Information Security requirements.
- Acts as the deputy for the Data Privacy Protection Officer (DPPO) and Information Protection Delegate(IPD)
- Supports National Manager, Compliance with the National Regulatory & Compliance Committee meetings and advises local associates, local business departments and management in compliance matters.
- Supports the group compliance networks with respective compliance headquarters functions and implements the central compliance instruments provided by these functions.
- Deals with inquiries from external judicial, administrative or supervisory parties and ensures the correct handling of documents according to pre-defined rules.
- Updates and implements policies and procedures relating to the governance of the Compliance management system and compliance with federal and provincial laws/regulations.
- Updates and implements policies and (business) procedures relating to the governance framework of the organization in alignment with BMW Group standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Implements and operationalizes changes in organizational processes as a result of federal and provincial legislative changes and/or examinations.
- Develops, implements, communicates and maintains governance framework, governance policies, processes and procedures; creates and implements the Data Governance Program.
- Reviews and examines processes after implementation of new or updated processes to ensure the business stays compliant as required.

**Qualification**:

- Post secondary degree in related field of study
- Relevant compliance related certification(s) such as CIPP/C, CIPM, CAMS
- Post-secondary degree in related field of study
- 5-7 years of relevant, professional experience in leading a compliance function preferably in the financial sector.
- Minimum 3 years of manager experience
- Excellent understanding and working knowledge of regulatory requirements including federal / provincial privacy legislation, CASL, consumer protection legislation, and AML.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional initiatives on compliance topics, with strong attention to detail, efficient time management, and collaboration.
- Experience in data governance and data management practices.
- Excellent communication (written, oral & presentation), critical thinking, relationship management and project management skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Self-directed / self-starter (i.e. entrepreneurial, proactively identifies necessary and/or value added tasks; appropriately self-identifie
