**Financial Aid and Awards Officer, Student Services**

**Start Date: As Soon As Possible**

**Salary Range: $44,396.12 to $60,065.34**

**Location: Henlow Campus**

**Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (35 hours/week)**

Reporting to the Manager, Student Services, the Financial Aid & Awards Officer, Student Services is the first point of contact for all MITT students requesting access to student advising and counselling, as well as for information and administrative guidance on student awards and financial aid. This role combines expertise in financial aid and award administration with front-line student support, ensuring students receive timely assistance with funding and access to campus services. This position is also responsible for providing administrative support to department staff, particularly with projects led by the Student Services Manager.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
General:

- Monitor and manage a shared inbox for student services and financial aid and awards inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the student experience to effectively triage student inquiries toward campus resources and services provided by Student Services, as well as from other departments.
- Assist students with booking appointments for specialized services, including student advising, immigration services advising, and counseling services
- Submits and coordinates office supply orders on behalf of the department as required.
- Responsible for accessing, updating, maintaining and storing student records and confidential documents/files, both paper and electronic, according to FIPPA/PHIA and MITT’s confidentiality policies.
- Document and track inquiry patterns to identify common student needs and enhance service delivery.
- Responsible for a Student Services credit card and makes purchases on behalf of the department as directed by the Senior Manager, Student Services.
- Maintains a high level of proficiency with CAMS and other MITT student records and administrative systems, including all components of MS Office.
- Participates in professional development opportunities.
- Student Awards:
- Works closely with the Senior Manager, Student Services and MITT Finance on the administration, promotion and distribution of MITT student awards (scholarships, bursaries and graduate awards). This includes website updates and various communications to current students and staff.
- Prepares congratulatory letters and award acceptance forms for recipients.
- Develops and promotes student resources on financial literacy and funding opportunities
- Financial Aid:
- Responsible for weekly online enrollment reporting between MITT and MB Student Aid. This includes troubleshooting and alerting students, MITT, and MB Student Aid of potential errors or delays.
- Maintains close connections and regular communication with MB Student Aid for updates on all policies and processes affecting students and MITT. Participates in training offered by MB Student Aid as required.
- Leads the development and maintenance of systems to track the student loan activity for individual students within CAMS (confirmation of enrollment, loan activity logs, etc.).
- Works closely with the Senior Manager, Student Services on outreach activities for prospective students and recent admits, as well as loan repayment information for upcoming graduates.

**Required Qualifications and Experience**:

- A combination of related education and experience may be considered._
- Either, or a combination of: a post-secondary diploma or qualification in business administration or a related field, or, 2+ years of experience in a student services, educational, or community service
administrative environment.

**Preferred Qualifications and Experience**:

- Familiarity or employment experience in a post-secondary student services, financial aid and awards, or related department.
- Experience in triaging or providing front-line student support is an asset.

**Conditions of Employment**:
